Czech Cooking 101 + Recipe for Traditional Fried Cheese

Time has flown by studying abroad here in Prague., As we quickly approach our last thirty days here in the Czech Republic, I'm already feeling nostalgic for Czech food., Needless to say, I was sorely mistaken (and ramen noodles are essentially nowhere to be found in Prague, go figure)., Czech food, while I'll admit can be little heavy from time to time, is the closest thing to my mom's home style cooking I've had in the last three months., Chelsea Brady is the Fall 2014 CEA MOJO in Prague, Czech Republic.

Dobrý den Praha

Based on observation, nine times out of 10 or potentially 10 times out of ten, an average person that had recently traveled to Prague would go absolutely berzerk on everything Prague., From the food to the colorful buildings, they would tell me that every inch of the city was worth seeing and experiencing., So now after just barely two weeks of living and studying in Prague, can I have my fair share of ranting about this city?, I have 100 percent fallen in love with its charm, people, food, sights, you name it and I will love and rant some more about it., Brittan Bates is the Fall 2015 CEA MOJO Blogger in Prague, Czech Republic.

As a wise person once said, "Life is too short for bad coffee."

I loved coffee back in the States and I love it in Prague too., I find myself more relaxed in an environment where I know I’ll be able to work a few hours after I’ve finished my initial drink and/or food., Most coffee shops in Prague serve the same basic drinks and while I typically stick to my usual, certain places make me want to branch out., Bonus: Costa Coffee in almost every major area of Prague and the serving sizes of coffee are generous as well. 3., IF Cafe: The small cafe located in Prague 2 is quaint, the perfect place for a delicious coffee and a book or to meet with a friend.

La Residencia: Mi Casa Extranjera

I had done a homestay before in high school, spending three weeks with a lovely San Sebastian woman in her apartment., Again, I heard that CEA picked out great apartments in great locations, and a friend who had studied in Prague raved about her apartment experience, especially the independence., Leading up to move in, I was nervous., Questions swirled in my head up until I arrived at the residencia, suitcases in tow, and began my stay in this Spanish dorm., All fears subsided when I saw my room: spacious and bright, with a large dresser for all my clothes, a balcony with a view to the street and a couple planters of succulents on the railing, a big desk for studying, and a small area with a microwave and fridge to store food.

New Places, New Perspectives

That can be a little disconcerting when you were used to running around the streets of Paris at 2 o/cock in the morning then come back and instead are sitting in a library room until 2 o’clock in the morning., Even though everyone in a hostel room could be from a different country, and and we all spoke different languages, there was always something that we all had in common., Even people on the other side of the world listen to the same music as you, or have the same favorite food, or maybe even study the same thing as you., In the end we are all just people, no matter where we are from., She studied abroad with CEA in Rome, Italy, Prague, Czech Republic & Paris, France in the Spring of 2016.

How to Budget Traveling and NOT Break the Bank
